These thick spiral curls are a look that can be replicated daily or for a more permanent hold, the stylist could opt to perm the clients hair. Note to writer, generally when dealing with ethnic hair , in order to achieve spiral curls is through marcel or curling iron or rod set. A “permanent” chemical process is for hair that goes from straight to curly. Typically if a ethnic client wants a curl pattern they will get a cold wave for a permanet curl process. This process will not acheive large spiral curls, but small spiral curls. Secondly, in this process in order to achieve this style the hair is sprayed hard not lightly to hold in place.
