Bio
Sharlotte, (Shae) Thompson was destined to be a hairstylist at birth. My grandmother owned her own salon; my father cut hair and my mother was also a licensed cosmetologist. I had no desire to do hair but started braiding hair on the front porch at 7 years old.
I started attending San Antonio Beauty College in 1992. I moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fl, in December of 1993. By September of 1994 I purchased the first black nail salon in Fort Walton Beach. Shortly after starting my nail salon and growing in the business I felt something missing.
I birthed my second child and then was born again. After accepting Christ in my life I began to figure out what my purpose was in life and it was to "Minister to the Self-esteem through the gift of doing hair." The Lord spoke to me and told me to start a salon that was of him. I started a Christian salon and named it, "A Heavenly Place in Hair."
My hours of operation are accommodating to my customers, and they are: Tuesday 9:00 to 5:30, Wednesday 9:00 to 2:30 p.m, Thursday 9:00 to 6:00 p.m, Friday 9:00 to 5:30 and Saturday 5:00 to 10 a.m.
The salon features coupons as well, for example, first time customers can either have a $45.00 relaxer or a free eyebrow wax. Coupons, advertisements, and further information featured in the Eglin and Hurlburt Field AFB Base Newspapers. The shop offers people an alternative place to go where there isn't any gossiping, worldly music, profanity, and any nonsense.
It had to be done and I did it. I went to train with Cool C in Detroit in 2001 and have been to different training classes. It has been an honor to work with Chip and his team. I was invited to the Chip Foust Invitational in 2006 for the first time. In going to the invitational in Las Vegas, I won Model of the Year (Ashley Johnson) and Peoples Choice, Model of the Year (Kimbra Edwards). I know that God isn't done with my salon and me. I give all the glory to God and the people who trust and believe in me |
