Women are always searching for black hairstyles that give the hair a rest from all the chemical processing, flat irons, curling, and other treatments. They look for a style that also nourishes the hair and does not require frequent trips to the hair salon. That is exactly why natural hairstyles are the go to hairstyle for those women. Natural hairstyles are perfect for a day out on vacation or going to a high powered executive meeting. Clearly, they are a very versatile hairstyle for the modern black woman.
First, gather together the tools and products required to complete the look. The styling requires a rat tail comb, a wide tooth comb, and hair moisturizer. It is important to shampoo and condition the hair as usual. A favorite deep penetrating conditioner might be suitable for this purpose. Blow dry the hair on a low setting to avoid damaging the hair. It is also a good idea to apply a hair moisturizer before blow drying. Apply the moisturizer from the roots up to the ends of the hair. The very next thing to do is to section the hair. Designate one section for the top and clip the hair together. Designate one section for the right and left side and clip that section together. Designate one section for the back and clip together.
Now, use the rat tail comb to section off the hair into smaller pieces that you are going to twist. It is also a good idea to use your fingers to make smaller parts. Now, you are going to grab a bit of hair and twist one part over the other. Keep doing this method all over the head in a freestyle way. Twist toward the back to make the hair fall over the shoulders. Twist toward the face to make the twist fall toward the front of the shoulders and on the forehead or around the face. Let a friend help, if you are having trouble managing the twists. It might also be a good idea to add hair moisturizer to the twists. Run from the roots to the end to seal in moisture.
